May be stars like Lady Gaga should never have an assistant, or at least they should keep their distance with them, make them sign some confidential agreement, or it could cost them a lot. According to the Guardian, Lady Gaga’s former assistant Jennifer O’Neill, is writing a tell-all book and it’s not gonna be pretty.
The New York Post has revealed that she has signed a $1 million contract with Atria books, a real deal, and for this amount of dough, the book has to be very juicy. Here are a few things we already know when O’ Neill sued the star in 2011 claiming she was owned $393,000 for 7,168 hours of overtime (plus damages),
When she was employed by Gaga between 2009 and 2011, O’ Neill says she was expecting to be working and available 24/7, ‘handling Gaga’s luggage, administering her ‘medicine’, waking her up, and even ‘ensuring the promptness of a towel following a shower’. It sounds like the usual demand from a diva, but at the top of this, she was required to sleep in Gaga’s bed because the fame monster does not like to sleep alone. At the time Gag had already denied all the allegations and settled the case out of court in terms which were never revealed:
‘This whole case is bullshit and you know it’ Gaga declared, ‘[Jennifer] thinks she’s just like the queen of the universe … [but] in my work and what I do, I’m the queen of the universe every day … She knew there was no overtime … [She’s a] fucking hood-rat who is suing me for money that she didn’t earn.’
Of course O’Neill could be a complete opportunist cashing in on her special relationship with Gaga, or she could be telling the complete truth,… she even said at the time, ‘I had no privacy, no chance to talk to any family, no chance to talk to any friends, no chance to have sex if I wanted to have sex. There was no chance to do anything.’ Why did she stay with Gaga for three years so? I would have run long ago. The book will be appropriately entitled ‘Fame Monster’, and I wonder how damaging to Gaga’s career it is gonna be, if career she still has.
