Kanye West's "All Day" Reviewed

All Day Jerkies
All Day Jerkies

The problem with writing about Yeezus is that everything he does is immediately plastered round the world and so all news is old news by the time we get to it. Plus, a lot of what he does holds zero interest to rock nyc. For instance, I myself saw him three times last year and reviewed them all and didn’t write once about his marriage or his fashion exploits.

We have essentially ignored Kanye all year but here is a new post because  “All Day” -a mix of “N—-z In Paris” and Draker’s “Started From The Bottom”, is yet another in a long line of awesome pop songs by West. Less immediately unimmediate than we are used to “All Day” is the way Kanye performs pop songs in 2014. Basically, he builds the entire song around repeating the hook every second line and third time around  at an increasingly fanatical pace.

The great thing about “All day” is it is both shallow and deep at the same time and it has a point of view but it functions as dance and more as pop; unlike much of his current work this is aiming for the charts (or it will when it is finished) .

I love it but I would.
