Jaz Coleman, Alive and Well and Laughing At You

We reported last week that frontman Jaz Coleman canceled off The Cult tour with some snarky Facebook remarks. I gotta hand it to the Killing Joke singer.  I agree with him that The Cult are a bunch of knobs, it was a cool punk rock move to jet off of them.  Perhaps not the most professional of moves but who really cares at this point. Should I feel bad for the other members of Killing Joke or the fans?  Dunno, but I don't.

The best part is he basically disappeared.  Oh how the people worried.  No need apparently he was in the Western Sahara working on some solo projects.  Basically another 'fuck you' to friends fans and family.  Would you expect anything else?

I've been finishing my book and writing the score for my new project – (The Nirvana Symphonic) – (laughs), what's all the fuss about then?"

Well cryptic messages and sudden disappearances will generally get some attention.  Coleman claims no knowledge of the Facebook posting.  So then that leads us to believe that he literally just disappeared from the tour?  I think he is having a good time at our expense and I happen to find it fantastic.

The word spread like wildfire and it Jaz almost became urban legend in a month he was in New Zealand and Memphis and Cairo- more press than he has gotten in years all for a silly Facebook prank that he has chosen to deny.  I say right on Jaz- well played.
