Is Daryl Hannah Preventing A CSNY Reunion?

Reunions are a hot thing, every band of the 60s and 70s reunite for concerts and lots of people are paying to see that because it’s nostalgia, time travel, and people are ready to dig deep into their pockets to recover part of their youth.
But Graham Nash is skeptical about the trend, and during a show on SiriusXM radio, he talked about the dim possibilities for a Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young reunion, because of Crosby’s comment about Neil Young’s recent behavior:
‘I don’t believe in the tooth fairy either. You know, whatever Neil wants to say is fine with me. It would be sad to me if the music of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young didn’t go forward because of an inappropriate statement by David to Neil about his relationship with Daryl Hannah. I mean if we’re not more grown up and if we’re not more realistic about what the true value of our friendship is, it would be very sad to me.’
For people who haven’t followed Neil’s recent love life, let’s just say that he got divorce from his wife of 36 years, Pegi, this summer, and he is now dating actress Daryl Hannah. But big mouth Crosby did comment on it while talking to the Idaho Statesman:
‘And I happen to know that he’s hanging out with somebody that’s a purely poisonous predator now. And that’s karma. He’s gonna get hurt. But I understand why it happened. I’m just sad about it. I’m always sad when I see love get tossed in the gutter.’
Was this inappropriate? It’s certainly not Crosby’s business, and Young is far from being an inexperienced man! Neil and Pegi were both attending their daughter’s art exhibition reception at Subliminal studios a few weeks ago, and honestly I can say they seemed to be in good terms. Daryl Hannah was not there, and everything look fine but you never know what’s going on between a couple!
So Neil’s divorce and recent acquaintance would be the only reason we won’t have a CSNY reunion? Even Nash isn’t sure as he said during the radio interview:
‘See you can never say never in this business, Ron. I mean you’ve got to understand, Neil Young knows what we bring to his music. He’s not a fool. He’s just a little upset right now. And I understand it. You know, he’s going through personal problems with his wife, Pegi. They’re getting divorced. You know, he’s found true love that he says with Daryl Hannah perhaps. And the ways of the heart are mysterious and I can only wish both Pegi and Neil and Daryl the very very best with their life. Let’s get on with it and let’s see what happens.’
May be other factors are into play, like playing the good old hits is not that satisfying anymore for the old guys? Crosby also declared this: ‘I’m a lot like Neil in a way. I’m not thrilled to keep doing our hits. He doesn’t like it at all and doesn’t want to do it. And he doesn’t have to. I kind of have to because it pays the rent. But I love those guys, and I love those songs.”
Crosby still needs to pay the rent? I thought he had tons of money… anyway if there is a reunion it’s gonna be for cash reason, not for creative or artistic reasons. Crosby should have kept his petty comment about Neil Young’s life private, who does he think he is? The new gossip section of people magazine? But we can be sure of one thing, if reunion there is, Daryl will not attend.
