Hologram USA Announces Liberace's World Tour

Liberated Liberace

Liberated Liberace

Coachella has started the trend and since it was such a success, there was no possible turning back: holograms of dead people are now going to be part of our concert experience. After the Tupac Shakur experience, we soon will be served the Liberace hologram concert, touring the world, with a debut performance in Las Vegas obviously!

‘This is a major step in the evolution of this medium for entertainment,’ said Alki David, CEO of Hologram USA. ‘With our partners at the Liberace Foundation we’ll be able to stage a show so lifelike — the room will be filled with all of the great singer’s charm and charisma. The show will be staged in such a way that Liberace will be able to interact with the audience — the suspension of disbelief the performance will cause will leave fans certain he has come back.’

And that’s creepy if you want my opinion. But the Liberace people couldn’t be more pleased by the project, they will even allow the use of actual artifacts to make the experience more authentic.

‘The groundbreaking work of Hologram USA was no secret to me when their team reached out to the Liberace Foundation,’ declared Jonathan Warren, Chairman of the Liberace Foundation. ‘We were thrilled. Above all, they get it. They understand what Liberace was about, and are vested in his legacy. Earnings will help us find and fund a new talent just waiting to be discovered. Now, Liberace will once more give you goosebumps. You’ll feel the warmth from his heart, the sparkle of his eye and the pure lightening from his fingertips. In the end, history is to be re-lived, not re-written, a legend never dies.’

The premiere in Las Vegas will be announced very soon and the organizers have described it as a ‘full-scale, long-running’ show, and it is just the beginning of a ‘slate of [further] celebrity resurrection projects’ that Hologram USA will be announcing during the next 30 days. Let’s see, whom else are they resurrecting? I bet Michael Jackson will probably soon touring the world for eternity, and it is gonna be much more lucrative for the estate than the real thing – no exhaustion and no need for costly drugs to revive the corpse. Then we will have the unavoidable Elvis Presley hologram with an endless residency at the Mirage… Are they going to make holograms for each dead rock-pop star? Amy Winehouse? Kurt Cobain? Tupac Shakur and Notorious BIG?  Jesus??? Well there are so many dead stars that the ghost population could go out of control in the following years. I don’t want to see this, it’s sad and weird. Plus Liberace would have been 95 this year, who’s gonna pay to see his ghost? People living in hospices?
