Jessica Theisen de Gonzalez is a New Yorker and a Facebook friend with a great big heart and a love for animals, which seem to go hand in hand, don’t they? A Libra (the best sign by the way) and her favorite novel coincides with mine, “Wuthering heights”. As for music, let’s see what Jessica has been listening to:
Always Late With Your Kisses- Dwight Yoakam – The 80s country superstar, had the twang and the bite and a great band most of the time to be the biggest star of the decade. Although a country fella, who crossed over into punk and new wave playing the local club scene in L.A. This track is a Lefty Frizzell cover and he plays it straight with a yodel in his voice.
Guitars, Cadillacs – Dwight Yoakam – Off his debut album, which included song with Lone Justice’s Maria McKee and so majes him in the odd us and them-y position, where he was real country but embraced by alt. This is a terrific rave up country swing.
Ben E King–Supernatural Thing – No, not “Stand By Me” and certainly not “Spanish Harlem”, this is a glorious funk work out from 1975.
Mike Nesmith–Joanne – Off hist first solo album, and his only hit, this is a pretty and sweet song from the same [pen that gave you “Different Drum” it is a state of pure grace.
En Un Mercedes Blanco – Kiko Veneno-Latin American flamenco guitar and a sterling vocal makes this irestible dance music from a white Mercedes.
