Bridgeport Connecticut is one of the sketchiest citys in the state. Boasting loads of crime and blight it also boasts a little park in which all the wannabe hippies can come once a year with their Winnebago’s and get wasted while listening to throw back music.
This event is getting bigger each year as the 50 somethings find out about it and relive their childhood in cut off dockers.
Dedicated to the memory of The Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia and happening at picturesque Seaside Park July 31-Aug. 3, the 19th annual Gathering Of The Vibes will include Rodrigo y Gabriela, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes, and Slightly Stoopid among the acts making their first appearances at the event. Along with Umphrey’s McGee and moe., those making return appearances include Dark Star Orchestra, Strangefolk, Ryan Montbleau,Deep Banana Blackout and others.
Really what more to say other than that. How did Sharpe get tangled up in this? and ‘picturesque’ as long as you dont look further than the circumference of the park youre in. Oh and let us not forget that the onsite camping allows for a ‘family’ friendly event so this would be a good way for little Janie to get her first contact high.
The VIP camp pass is a heft $485 but you do get snacks…and it proves my point that this is poser holiday where white break middle class suburbanites gather to drink, smoke and groove. While their neighbors sit shocked that they would even drive their new cars to Bridgeport.
