Echo Park Rising is over, these three days of madness are gone… it was hot and sweaty, crowded and pushy, I have been thirsty for three days but it’s all good! There were a LOT of bands playing, that’s an understatement, and the ones I managed to see reflected the immense diversity of musicianship and talent present at Echo Park. There were a lot of charismatic frontmen and women, a lot of energy on stage and kids were having fun, especially the crowds at the Echo, constantly moshing and crowd surfing.
Things got weird with Man or Astro-Man?, tender with Dengue Fever and wilder with Hanni El Khatib. Birth Defects put the stage on fire, Three Common invited everyone to join them on stage, and Corners’ set was a crowd surfing party… I wanted the festival to last at least a week, I was just getting in the rhythm after these three days! See you next year…
