'Can't Remember To Forget You', Shakira and Rihanna ft Their Asses

The Ass and The Face

The Ass and The Face

There is scandal related to the latest Shakira video that caused her to have to release a statement.  In response to be ‘objectified she states  “You see baseball players grabbing each other’s asses, and nobody says anything! I don’t think that I put myself in any situation in which I am objectified. “But I do take advantage of, you know, feeling sensual and feeling sexy.

“And I think that is tremendously empowering and is not diminishing in any way. I feel that any woman who is in control, who is in touch with her femininity and sensuality, is a woman that is empowered.”

Alrighty this statement sent me off in search of what sort of video would require such words.  What I found was a video well filtered of two pop starts shaking their asses against a wall and a load of airbrush.  Shakira is gorgeous- she has a unique voice and a fabulous style.  She is smart and despite that silly Voice host nonsense she has maintained herself at a standard- lets face it she could have ended up the modern Charo coochie coochie girl (look it up) but nope- shes a beast.

Rihanna not so much.  Her vocals never clicked with me her face to stearn and puffed in the wrong places but whatevs, she backs up Shakira in this so its fine as a side dish.

There is nothing less erotic than these two in a bed an I swear I tried to find some sort of arousal factor in their performance but instead it looked like posing for a photo shoot rather than an actual entanglement.  They’re too old, there was no chemistry and the wall thrust was sexier than the hand on thigh bit the two of them strain with.

Why the complaining?  Most likely because it was supposed to be sexy and ended up scripted.  The song itself is typical Shakira, the video is PG- maybe next time we’ll get a rise but not today.   Vevo disabled the embed, most likely cuz its so lame- so click here
