Well then, Southern Rock is alive and well and living in Black Stone Cherry. Let me explain, I fell upon this from a search engine that obviously didn't know me. But its a sassy band name- and a band that apparently is rather popular with the Walmart set.
Their latest video "In My Blood", is the rockers lament of how tough it is to be away from loved ones when you're on the road. I am seeing this as a possible huge hit for the old time rock and rollers. Generic guitar rock with a nice shout out chorus. This band pretty much sums up middle America. White bread doughy rock and roll with no controversy and no disturbing the apple cart.
Before you flip out understand that being white bread doughy and lame is not an insult. It simply means that you are happily eating whatever you're served. You keep the economy moving, you buy American, you most likely have more than 3 remotes on your living room table and a frozen pizza in the fridge.
And you will love Black Stone Cherry.
The video is stereotypical boring and bland, sorta like the song. I will say that the drummer is very talented but that's really the only high point in the whole three minutes.
