After the much publicized meltdown had by the leader of poser punk band Green Day word comes that Billie Joe wasn't just naturally passionate about having his set cut short. On the contrary- he was fueled by another 'substance'

"Billie Joe Armstrong is seeking treatment for substance abuse," the band said in a statement on its site Sunday afternoon. "We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances."
And suddenly I feel badly. I have hated Green Day for years and considered this act just another ego fueled bullshit old man ploy for hip points. What I have to do here is step back and offer my hopes that he resolves whatever issues he has.
There arent many details at the moment. Not sure what 'substance' he's having a problem with but I am sure that info will flow in.
