How often does this happen? 20%, 50%, or 100% of the time? Are we fooled all the time? Probably… While Beyoncé was wrapping up her ‘On The Run’ tour in Paris this weekend, I am well aware that we are going to have these two – Bey and her husband – on HBO soon, just remind me to turn the TV off that week… Because why would I want to watch this supposedly deity pretending to perform, when I know she is just lip-synching like a failed mortal?
While performing in Paris, Beyonce was caught by a fan’s phone during the song ‘Partition’ (watch the video below). She bent down to greet fans in the pit, she dropped the mic, and the singing did continue nevertheless… It’s blatantly visible for a very short time, there is no doubt about this. It’s true that pro-Bey snaps the mic back to her lips very fast, and with her signature hair whip, she is back on track almost flawlessly, but she was lip-synching… May be nobody would have noticed if the moment hadn’t being caught on film!
That’s the problem with technology, you can’t hide anymore. What does it say about her talent? I know she can sing but this is not the point at all, the point is that she doesn’t sing during live shows, and now I have all the reasons to think that she may be doing this all the time. Just prove me wrong! Why? Because she is Mrs. Perfect, she is a flawless brand and a goddess who would not accept to have a bad day like everyone.
It is dishonest for people paying good money to see her perform, how much is a Beyonce show these days? A couple of $100 to get in the pit? More than this? These people deserve their money back, they didn’t come to listen to the CD.
But we know it’s not the first time it happens, nobody has forgotten the national anthem episode at Obama’s inauguration. I have a tendency to think this is happening more often than we want to admit it, I bet all these big mainstream stars, from Eminem & Rihanna to Iggy Azalea to Chris Brown to Selena Gomez to Justin Bieber, are all guilty of the same Milli Vanilli crime.
