The Wonder Years are true representatives of a certain strata of their generation. They for them and to them. But they sound like emo and they have the same problem with melodies that inflicts all “emo” bands with the exception of My Chemical Romance. They are playing Best Buy on Thursday and if you wanna catch up with the Greatest Generation, that is the place to be.
Monday – Bayside – Best Buy – Local, I mean really local “Bayside” is two minutes from me, boys make good as the new face of rock.
Monday – Cloud Nothings – With what may be the rock album of the year under their belt, Cloud Nothings sell out for good measure.
Tuesday – Taking Back Sunday And The Used – Best Buy – I think they both suck but Mary Magpie loves em so it might be an age thing.
Tuesday – Rufus Wainwright – The Town Hall – The gay messiah himself with a greatest hit package
Wednesday – Black Lips – Webster – Yeah, the new album is a dog but that doesn’t mean they can’t bring it still on stage.
Friday – The Coathangers – Mercury Lounge – Those 1030p shows on the weekend are pretty hard, “Shut The Fuck Up” is a killer song
Sunday – Kid Ink – Irving Plaza – Bad boy rapper buddy of Tyga and Chris Brown, gets a Tat, raps a track.
Sunday – Fabulous – Irving – Last time I saw him, in 2013 I think, he was absolutely terrific and essentially blew Pusha T off stage.
