The exhibit ‘Obey your Master – A visual salute to Metallica’ will be unveiled on January 20th in Los Angeles at the Exhibit A Gallery.
Gallery founder and artist Richard Villa III and famous skateboarder Tony Alva made an announcement on Tuesday about the exhibit, which will feature a collection of work from artists of different horizons (art, fashion, film, music and skateboarding). Each one of them has chosen a song of the metal heroes and has made a personal interpretation using a specific medium. The pieces will be revealed at a private reception with all the artists and Metallica in attendance! They also will be available for purchase through March 23rd.
This is part of what was posted on Metallica website:
‘The connection between music and art has always been a very powerful one for us, so the idea to show a collection of art inspired by our songs seemed like it could be pretty unique and special.’
Unique and special? It is indeed, and if you want a chance to get an invite to the private reception, just follow Exhibit A Gallery on twitter (http://twitter.com/#!/exhibitagallery), you will also need to register on the gallery site (http://www.exhibitagallery.com) to get exclusive information…. Can I get an invite?
