26th Annual Bridge School Benefit Concert Pay Per View This Saturday October 20th

Paying to watch an online concert could well put off most people.  That dumb buffering and the skips and hops get so annoying.  I have watched 3 concerts online and although I love the idea , it still needs a bit of fine tuning.  It really is no different than watching a concert movie or hearing a live recording other than the ‘in the minute’ aspect.  A novelty really.

Would you drop $10. to watch a concert?  How about if it were for charity?  It’s a great idea that I am curious to get the stats on once it’s done.  I wonder if this thing will profit?  There is no doubt that The Bridge Street School does great things for handicapped children and this whole concert thing is a goldmine but I don’t think I would pay for the view at all.

This year has a great line up.  Gary Clark Jr, The Flaming Lips, Jack White, it’s a who’s who of the hipster set.  Another great gimmick for the event is that this year it is all acoustic.   Should be cool and a great CD when all is said and done.

The concert takes place October 20th at the Los Angeles Shoreline Amphitheater. Twenty six years of concert fundraising really took off once Neil Young got hold of it.  Since then the hype, the acts and Im sure the profitability has increased threefold.
