Lana Del Rey is all over the place in this video in an attempt to show us shes multi faceted. Look how sexy she is! She actually looks like Loretta Lynne in a 70s B movie. Its just a horrible song with way too much talking an it takes up 10 minutes of my life.

Some of the imagery is actually pretty cool. I like that seedy side of things but holy hell on hamburger what is up with that voice? Her tongue seems to get in the way of whatever shes queening about. The chorus is week and really it took nearly four minutes for a song to start after the story set up.
By six minutes I have hit the mute so as not to go insane. The song is too slow it doesn't match up with the video and if I hear her trying so desperately to come across as a sultry lounge act any longer I will lose my mind.
The problem is we have a beautiful woman who has been told she has star appeal and she does. What she doesn't have is star appeal as a pop star. Maybe she can get a role in films ore television or just retire and become a muse or something because honest- her fans are in a tiny basket. I am not taking away their right to love Ms Del Rey, by all means please do, but please understand that this type of drama crap was done over 20 years ago- there is no groundbreaking ideas here. If you're going to imitate please, please at least meet expectations.
