A studio video for their new ‘Simple Song’ was just released by The Shins on YouTube, and the sort of behind-the-scenes footage brings us this warm-cozy feeling of a house in middle of the Oregon majestic forest.
Aww, everything is there, the all-wood antic Victorian-house atmosphere, the guitars on the walls, the vintage equipment, the hot coffee cups, the grey sky outside,… this is so homely, I want to move in! I don’t know if it is James Mercer’s own house, but I really love the attic.
The band (all new except for Mercer) now consists of Fruit Bats frontman Eric Johnson, Richard Swift, Joe Plummer, Yuuki Matthews and Jessica Dobson, and they even dress up in some tribal-savage outfits for a photo shoot, I presume.
The video is just another good excuse to listen to the song again, before listening to the whole album, Port Of Morrow', which should be released next month. But why do we only get 2 minutes of it?
