In 2002 during Britney Spears 'dark days' she hopped up in Mexico and flipped the bird to the press. Since that day that gesture is referred to as 'flashing a Britney', not sure how that is said in Spanish but that's pretty darn funny.
Ms Spears is going back to Mexico City for a free show this Sunday, December 4th.
“I’ve had so much fun and received so much love from my fans all over the world while performing my Femme Fatale tour which I am grateful for,” Spears wrote. “I want to return some of that love so I’ve decided to give my fans in Mexico a special night and perform my Femme Fatale show for free.”
Curious if the location is based upon the faux pas or if there is other reasoning. Regardless, in a drug warlord torn country a bit of glitter and bubblegum couldnt hurt.
Mexico’s Federal District head Marcelo Ebard tweeted the news, saying the superstar will appear at the Monument To The Revolution.
Pretty odd venue name.
