I literally hung off a pillar to see The Kooks live a few years ago. I found them somewhat bland at times, brilliant in others but simply inconsistant.
As a fan of their recorded work I found that the production helps them tremendously. Live…well theres nothing but a board mixer with an iPod.
So get a load of this video for an accoustic "Ooh La". I now want (if not DEMAND) a stripped down tour. There is more personality and clarity in this video then their live performance that night. Clearly talented with fantatstic vocals moves this song takes on a whole new life. This simple video restored my faith in The Kooks. Beauty.
