Collaboration Between Beck and Charlotte Gainsbourg, Paradisco

A new collaboration Beck-Charlotte Gainsbourg has just arrived on soundcloud as it was advertised by the Beck twitter account on Tuesday night.

It is appropriately called ‘Paradisco’ because, yes, it has this bass-induced disco beat all along, behind Charlotte’s high pitched vocals, whereas the electronic start is a little reminiscent of Beck’s previous work on Modern Guilt.

The song, which was written and produced by Beck, is only sung by Charlotte and gets a little help from Ariel Pink’s Haunted graffiti Cole M.G.N. on the drum machine, according to Pitchfork.

‘Paradisco’ is a track from ‘Stage Whisper’, Gainsbourg's forthcoming double-LP of live and unreleased material, set to be released on December 13th. Last August, we had already heard ‘White Telephone’ from the same upcoming release, and this new track has dreamy vocals, is full of promises at the beginning, but cultivates the same danceable groove for 4 minutes,… it is not unpleasant, but Charlotte sounds a little bit like a bored girl in a disco room.
