It's a pretty weird trend happening. Seems that alternative bands (so to speak) are all about doing covers of pop songs. Thus the popularity of the 'Punk Goes Pop" series. Cover songs are fun, for the most part. To hear your favorite band doing a totally flipped genre cover is even more fun.
But here where it gets subjective.
Four Year Strong doing TLC or Flo Rida = Win.
Artist v Poet covering Minaj= Fail.
Artist v Poet just don't have a unique enough sound to make it endearing. It sounds like the band in High School doing a Madonna song.. big deal. AvP is really weird lately. Personnel changes and now this leads me to believe they simply have no idea what they're doing and no managerial direction. I give these cats about another year before they're totally done and on to another life style.
This isn't even cute enough to promote and its just a clip and to be quite honest with you its rather pathetic.
