I swear to God this dude gets cooler by the minute. I was not aware that he walked off stage at Coachella 2009 because he could "smell burning flesh". Any vegan or vegetarian knows the smell of an open flame burger BBQ can be retching to say the least. I can totally relate to my veggie brethren here.
But what's interesting now is the Charming Mans tour rider.
"We were asked that no meat is prepared, cooked or served at the venue on the day of the concert," said the director of his Perth Australia venue- and they agreed. It's small gestures like this that really can make an impact. Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders has played both sides an avid Vegan, she has often played in the smoke of a BBQ and has mentioned it in her performances. For Morrissey to demand that there be no cooking really elevates his hero status with me.
Perth Concert Hall said they were delighted to be welcoming the artist to the venue and confirmed they would be serving vegetarian food on the day of the concert.
I really really want him to come to the States like right away before I forget again how amazing he is.
