This was not the year of the summer song, there was no “Blurred Lines” and absolutely no “Call Me Maybe” -something both undeniable and ubiquitous, something that defined this year in the life for all of us, and there isn’t one here. “Cheerleader” is THREE YEARS OLD! Though the excellent Felix Jaehn remix deserves a lot of credit. Wiz has been around all year and everything else has even less ties to the summer. “Can’t Feel My Face” could just as well be “Acquainted”.

However, here is the top 10 songs of the summer sales wise.

1 – Cheerleader – OMI with Felix Jaehn – B+

2 – See You Again – Wiz Khalifa with Charlie Puth – C-

3 – Bad Blood – Taylor Swift with Kendrick Lamar – C

4 – Can’t Feel My Face Face – The Weeknd – B+

5 – Watch Me – Silento – B-

6 – Trap Queen – Fetty Wap – C

7 – Shut Up And Dance 0- Walk The Moon – C+

8 – Lean On – Major Lazer – B-

9 – The Hills – The Weeknd – A

10 – Fight Song – Rachel Platten – D

If you want to read some more here is the link to the Billboard article, though, much like the charts for the past couple of years, this is a strangely characterless state of affairs. The incredible homogenization of the charts means that the only curveball you ever get, the occasional OMI, comes from Youtube. It’s a pity.
