– What Went Down – Foals – This song is so great it gives people the wrong idea about the band, we think they’re better than they are because right here they’ve managed a gigantic riff into a whirlwind of sound – A

– Friday I’m In Love – Yo La Tengo – The complaint is this is a little on the twee side, the reply is “unlike Robert Smith?” – A

– Here Comes The Night – Van Morrison – wow, here it comes – A+

– Spanish Rose – Van Morrison – From the brilliant and beautiful bang session, a complete tour de force like a gate swinging back and forth – A

– Victory Or Die – Motorhead – Rushes at you full force and you can’t step back fast enough before you’re flat on your back – A

– Burgundy – Earl Sweatshirt – His catchiest hook – A

– Tell Your Friends – The Weeknd – When you think of young Kanye, you think of that vocal hiccup, that “heeeh”, but here his signature is that  instrumental solo around three minutes in – A

–  Be Right There –  Diplo – Average but not bad signature house – B

– Lipstick Vogue – Elvis Costello And the attractions – I was complaining about the lack of a good drum solo to open a song and somebody mentioned this one – A

– Like A Box – Willis Earl Beal – I’ve been complaining about this guy all day but he is something like a black Scott Walker and this is a beautiful song, I think I am have got it wrong – B+
