Grizzly Bear Slams Taylor Swift On Twitter, Then Capitulates

It’s very strange when people are either hated by everyone or loved by everyone,… both extremes meet, it’s not very normal to be loved by the entire world, right? You necessarily can’t do the unanimity, but this is what Taylor Swift manages to accomplish right now, the whole world loves her, she invites everyone on stage and everyone sings her songs or their songs… it has been a love fest with Kobe Bryant, Alanis Morissette, Beck, St. Vincent, and recently Lisa Kudrow, and even Ryan Adams is recording her own songs… I almost feel nauseous.

But there is at least one person who doesn’t like Taylor, Ed Droste, the frontman for the indie band Grizzly Bear, who has been very vocal about his disdain for the pop star. He dared to criticize the 1989 singer on Twitter but the poor guy was so beaten down by her fans, he had to leave social media!

‘Obsessed that people are catching on’, he tweeted with an article dissing Taylor and her control freak persona. She has apparently ‘a dress code for everyone to make sure she wasn’t upstaged’… her ‘friends’ are told to stand ‘a certain number of feet behind her at all times, not to speak unless spoken to and not to discuss her private life in interviews’.

‘Her sending gifts to fans and you tubing in, so self serving #gross’, he tweeted again….

‘ummmm she’s been given a free pass for too long. Plus, first hand experience,’ he continued, while criticizing the singer’s calculated friendship with high-placed people like Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne, Gigi Hadid, …

Last February, he briefly talked about this first hand experience he is alluding to, in a now deleted tweet:

‘Met a celebrity I always speculated was terribly calculated and mean, and they exceeded all my expectations of rudeness and arrogance. HATE. I’m too petrified of their insane power. No need to speculate, just HAD to voice my disgust.’

He continued his attacks through July with sentences like:

‘Super relieved Taylor Swift is up for another award. Was worried she didn’t have enough! #phew’… ‘I finally feel comfortable expressing my distaste for the rudest , fakest person I’ve ever met! #liberating’… ‘I’m done dragging, but I’m glad people recognize the skunk finally #trust

Then when the legendary Joan Baez joined Swift on stage, Droste exploded ‘Joan Baez? Enough is enough’

Swift fanbase was not cool with Droste, insulting him with gracious words such as ‘ugly’, ‘Faggot’, ‘dirty Jew’… what a charming fan base she has!

‘My advice to those that are butthurt? Sit on the bidet and let it wash the shit away…‘Honestly I was treated like shit for no reason by the monster and thusly I’ve been called every disgusting slur there is #1989’… ‘Tired of everyone sucking up to the power. Just stop feeding the monster! Goodnight’… after a few more tweets he disappeared from Twitter, deleting his account.

But what did he expect? He was slamming the most beloved pop star in the world, of course he would be attacked by millions!… As much as I agree with him, I can’t understand why he was so persistent in his attacks. Taylor is very probably this controlling and calculated character otherwise she would not be where she is now. Everything seems about PR for her, after all she is a woman who gave money to a girl battling leukemia because the teen was using ‘Bad Blood’ as her fight song…. Talk about some self serving gift!

But this Grizzly Bear’s Twitter feud was just childish!
