Fishtails – Indigo Girls – For their thirtieth anniversary, the Indigo Girls have managed to improve not an iota as they manage to make lesbianism as boring as lukewarm tapioca, even if their work for LGBT rights has been stellar and important. This is a bad song even if no worse than all the rest – D+
Go Big or Go Home – American Authors – Sounds like they’ve been cribbing big time off fu. To little effect – C
Bust No Moves – Run The Jewels – Typical RTJ, which means slightly old fashioned with Killer Mike the best thing about it – B-
Miss Narcissist – Courtney Love – This is a horrid sounding proto-Hole track, she sounds old and the album drags except for the guitar here and there. If this is the same chick who wrote “Softer, Softest”, I’m Kurt Cobain – C
Together – Ella Eyre – Ella solo, the great youngest, so fabulous with Rudimental a coupla years ago and even better here, a full on soul disco track and a goodie, full of hope and movement – B+
Mercy – Muse – This is where they cash in their chips and pound out a full throttle rock ballad old style – B+
Guantanamo – Pete Townshend – Look, it is his song and he can do whatever he wants with it, but surely “Let My Love Open The Door” is better for his voice, this for roger – B-
Broke (featuring Stevie Wonder & Keith Urban) – Jason deRulo – This should suck but it doesn’t all, it throws in the kitchen sink but keeps a float on a really catchy chorus – B+
