Wow, talk about asleep at the wheel of rock: my fave dance band in the entire universe, Rudimental, released a new single on April 28th and I completely and totally missed it. On first listen “Never Let You Go” is catchy without being really all that much to be quote honest but then I remember, it took forever for their first album to click in with me, so back the fuck up, right?
But more exciting still there is a new album and it includes Bobby Womack’s last vocal performance. This is off Gigwise: “Rudimental have revealed details of their second album entitled We The Generation due to be released on 18 September. The album will follow-up their mercury-nominated debut album Home released in 2013, which spawned the hit singles ‘Feel the Love’ and ‘Waiting All Night’. As well as new talent, the group have also enlisted the help of legends – Bobby Womack features on closer ‘New Day Coming’ which has been described as a “future soul classic” and was one of the last vocal takes Womack recorded before his death in 2014.”
The new single is growing on me already.
