Lil Wayne, Cash Money Prisoner

Lil Wayne, remember him!?  If you’re waiting for his latest album Carter V keep waiting, its held up with his label Cash Money.

Wayne has been with CM since he was 9 years old and even served as label president for awhile before stepping down.  The rapper has taken to Twitter (as we all do) to voice his disgust with the label he now refers to as his prison, and he wants out.

“I am a prisoner and so is my creativity Again,I am truly sorry and I don’t blame ya if ya fed up with waiting 4 me & this album. But thk u,’ he wrote to his over 19 million Twitter followers.  That 140 character limit makes everything sillier doesn’t-it?

‘To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it,’ he tweeted. ‘This is not my fault. I am truly and deeply sorry to all my fans but most of all to myself and my family for putting us in this situation.’

‘I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain’t that easy,’

And so the fight begins.  The only victim here of course, is the fan but isn’t that the usual? As Wayne bitches about departing his label I cant seem to find any sort of legal actions in his attempt to depart the label that has cut him checks since 1991.  So is this reality or delusional  Wayne hasnt exactly been the king of sane and shouldn’t we be seeing legal notes and court dates?  This could run deeper and uglier than just legal documents and the truth may never be known.

Until then.. chill muthafuckahs he shits comin’ out soon ’nuff…
