I am a huge fan of remakes and if you take a ‘classic’ and jack it up I’m all the happier. The reason I often fall for the ‘Punk Does” series by Fearless records is this exact point. Take a relatively uncool tune, slap a modern artist of an alternate genre on it and often it comes up pretty amazing. I nod to 3oh3’s version of Rihanas “Umbrella” for one, that song sucked before them.
Some may find this one a bit offensive but first off I don’t really mind offending people and secondly its the Holidays so I can do whatever I please. There is a fine line between bad ass and hilarious and this one is no where near it. Its simply hilarious
Euro-metal extraordinaire Boerdi sounds like a drunken Cookie Monster as he belts out the tune “Rudolf The Red Nosed Reindeer’ coupled with the classic video starring Bing Crosby. The YouTuber (yeah that’s actually a legit job description for You Tube stars) Andy Rhedfeldt did the edit on this gem and honestly I never say Bing in a sassier light.
That being said you can add this to the Holiday Classics in your trash bin cuz the lyrics straight out of Jim Henson’s Muppets is nothing more than parody. You have to almost feel bad for those that find this ‘good’ or ‘rad’. But for pure comedic pleasure its a winner.
Great talent on the edit, lame ass tune with bloody vocal chords and well .. honestly Death Metals shelf life is about as long as puberty- ya just grow out of it.
