Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, Brantley Gilbert, Cole Swindell: that’s almost as many headliners as the entire three day Farmborough at Randall’s Island next June. Which I am skipping unless
1. They add more big names or
2. They press list me.
Neither options are very unlikely and a country boy gotta get his kicks some way so this double headliner country show at Metlife sounds like the next best thing. A nosebleed for $72 and a quick check out of Spotify hater Jason Aldean dirt road thing watcha and sexually ambiguous Kenny Chesney for whom I heard a terrific rumour where he is transgendered which probably isn’t true but would be awful cool if it was.
These guys don’t really float my boat but both o them should be fun on stage. Kenny I saw before and thought he was OK, Jason I haven’t and get the feeling he isn’t ready for a stadium but let him give it his best shot say I. But it should be a painless way to get a handle on what a coupla big country stars even if neither of their new albums got much in the way of love from me.Oh and Brantley Gilbert has decided not to share his music with Spotify though the single “Bottoms Up” is alright if you like that kind of thing.
So, I got a ticket for Saturday, August 15 to catch the show. A mistake? Maybe, but not as big as Jason taking his music off spotify.
