Eric Clapton To Play Seven Nights In London, Can New York Be Far Behind

With every passing day Eric Clapton appears to be closer to packing it in. He looks at BB King and he doesn’t want to be that man and so he says that’s it even as he released one of his best albums (following one of his worst albums) this year, the excellent JJ Cale tribute The Breeze. I would love, love, love to hear that album live, plus the last time I saw Clapton was at the Crossroads gig last year and he was pretty terrific.

But still, time catches up with the you and Eric Clapton is gonna be 70 next year.

Seven days is the sort of figure that sounds like someone is making sure everybody gets one last chance to see him and if he plays at MSG and does, three maybe four nights, you can kinda count him out and more is the pity. What a great guitarist, what an incredible career.

Here is a cut and pace off Gigwise? Why, because this CMJ is killing me.

Due to phenomenal demand, Eric Clapton has added three furhter shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall to his 70th birthday residency. Full dates and ticket details are below.
