I've got this army, you've got this song
I’ve got this army, you’ve got this song

1. The British Are Coming – Weezer – The martial beats that open the song are a fake out, this is actually emo rock as Rivers had a huge influence on via Pinkerton, and so I guess it makes perfect sense for this to sound very Pinkertonish in the best manner possible. A great song, his first great song in a long long time – A

2. High Society – Betty awho – This sounds like modern soul singing female side and while the song isn’t quite there, the vocal and playing is – B+

3. Pop Thieves (Make It Feel Good) – Childish Gambino and Jaden Smith – This is pretty lame – C

4. Mother & Father – Broods – There is something awful generic in this, electronic pop 101 – C

5. She – Keyshia Cole – Nothing much though the change in mood early on is cool – C+

6. Graveyard Whistling – Nothing But Thieves – a tempting acoustic guitar and a string voice that can go falseto, the song… I have problems with the song – B-

7. Lover Like You – Gorgon City, Katy B – Katy back on her game after a disappointing album and EDM duearn their keep at the Rudimental table – A-

8. Take Me To The Church – Hozier – “My lover’s got humor, she used to giggle at a funeral” -this could either be etrrible or the best… it is the best – A

9. Saramona Said – Violent Soho – well, if you’re gonna mine 90s grunge, by all means do it this well – B

10. On My Fingers – Icege – Yeah, there are ebtter songs on the album than this – B-
