Back To Gaza
Back To Gaza

1. My Palestinian Girl – Tricky, Blue Daisy – “I take a trip to Gaza, it’s really love I’m after” might be the point but “She’s got a giggle when she talks, she’s close to God, I treat her like a a dog” is the money shot. With air raid sirens as the hook, this is one of the most lovely songs and strange songs you’ll hear this year.  Is he being ironic? Unlikely – A

2. we found It – The Drums – An instrumental guitar lick and haunting synths haunt the track, like Ennio goes indie pop – B+

3. Bad Girls – Tennis – After a coupla more listens I think I underestimated the fraught with beauty  Ritual In Repeat, including this lovely song – A-

4. Today And A Lonely Night – Justin Townes Earle – I sincerely regret not going to see him last week and if I could go back in time would probably change my mind, oh well, next time. Meanwhile, the slide guitar winds its way through this song delivering you to another sad conclusion – A

5. If You Want It – Nick & Knight – Old fashioned blue eyed soul, I wish it was a little better – C+

6. So What – Sie7e – Calypso loop – B

7. Girls In Bikinis – Lee Brice – How could it possibly be as bad as its name. It couldn’t, right? – D+

8. La Di Da – Lera Lynn – This weeks model can certainly bring the blue – B+

9. See Me Now – The Kooks – Piano ballad, OK I guess. Maybe I underestaimted the album a little – B-

10. NYC Baby – Karen O – Betetr than it has any right to be – B
