After Boston earlier this year, I began to get really sick of Morrissey. The cancelled gigs, the lousy attitude, the years and years of time in which to create great album and the end results. But I would have forgiven him the lot if he instaed of the bullshit self-serving whinging press release he gave to hsi website “True To You”, he had to said:
“I was very very sick and I know I’ve cancelled three times in Atlanta now, and I know I’ve let down my fans and my record company and I am very very sorry. Please forgive me.” I would’ve forgiven. There are other people at the end of those tickets you know, who pay handling fees whether or not “No Show” Moz makes it.
But no, he didn’t address it at all (he told Hot Press he was very ill after Boston) and as for Columbia not paying for videos: why should they? The album was already a stiff and he wasn’t touring behind it. And who the hell is insuring his upcoming Portugal gig?
Moz is such an asshole he hurts his case, I’d eat flesh if only to piss the self-righteous wanker off. So now Harvest (owned by Sony) have dropped it and I must admit, despite it being a little like preferring Mitt Romney to Barack Obama (or perhaps Al Qaeda to ISIS ps can they please rename ISIS? I keep expecting Bob Dylan to come in from the East with the sun in his eyes) but Morrissey is just a gigantic pain in the fucking ass. A selfish asshole. And a great songwriter but no Oscar Wilde (if you see what I mean).
