They aren’t really wonder-kids at all but three dudes from New York who obviously have inside connects at Sony. The band from Brooklyn (of course they are where else could they be from?) just inked a 3 album deal with the Sony owned Cherry Party Records. You must have heard all the buzz on this one already, why they’re just babies!
Well actually kids in music is nothing new. Think Osmond Family, Jackson 5, hell even The Partridge Family and Menudo- it happens. Kids sing everyone pops a cork and once they hit adult hood its “best of luck baby” sink or swim.
But when they’re young we can exploit the hell out of them so kudos to Penguin Press for offering the boys a book deal…what? The book is to be a chronicle of their “path to success”. What the hell, are you kidding me? Their path involved over zealous parents pushing them to be cash cows. I suppose their mothers are their managers and as with most child stars they’ll be over the edge within 2 years.
See below, the kids have talent but if they weren’t kids I would never have watched the entire video. There is no denying that that have the ‘it’ factor but lets not fool ourselves into thinking that theyre signed for their gimmick and that’s their age and race. There are plenty of kids with massive talent and drive who aren’t writing books on their success before they can drive.
My question is who is the inside guy at Sony who knew these kids and will they step up for ‘finders fees’. All I can do is hope that someone has the clarity of thought to monitor these boys very closely on their road to exploitation.
