Why is Patrick Carney of the Black Keys always insulting someone in interviews or on Twitter? Most of the time I agree with his opinion, of course Justin Bieber is a moron, but just why stating the obvious and getting a million fans on your back? It sounds like way too much trouble for nothing to gain. A few days ago, he reanimated a war which started last year, by declaring to Rolling Stone:
‘Justin Bieber, like a fucking irresponsible asshole, sicced 40 million Twitter followers on me because I paid him a compliment he didn’t understand. I’m saying that he should be grateful that he has a fucking career in music. And he shouldn’t be fucking telling his followers to slap me, and then also be doing anti-bullying bullshit. It’s so irresponsible.’
‘I mean, Justin Bieber is a fucking moron. And that’s the gist of what I was saying. And then he goes and says I should be slapped? Honestly, I feel bad for him. Every single person who works with him should fucking be embarrassed that they don’t. . . No one is doing him any favors, you know? And honestly, I don’t dislike his music. I don’t listen to his music, but he needs to not conduct himself that way. Like, really, you make millions of dollars playing music, you should feel fucking lucky.’
Okay we got it, how old is he already? 34, and Bieber at 20 is still an immature spoiled kid, always in the news for some stupid driving or smoking, Carney is totally losing his time. Or is it a cry for attention? He actually did it again on Tuesday with another target this time, and although the guy is dead, this won’t be unnoticed by his millions of fans. This is what he declared when talking about Michael Jackson’s posthumous album:
‘[It’s] some fucking bullshit that sucks so bad that it took them three years after he died to make it listenable. Like he had to be dead for three years for it to be released.’
I haven’t listened to it and very probably won’t, but why is he saying this? He was just complaining about losing millions of followers on Twitter, how does he think this new slap in the King of pop’s face will help him exactly? Again it does sound like a good vitriolic declaration just to get another article in Rolling Stone and Pitchfork. Is this happening because of other articles like this one or this one, saying that the Black Keys’ last apparition in SNL was totally uninspired and boring? This has to hurt, and may be Carney is trolling around for this reason. Why picking a fight with a dead guy? Of course Michael Jackson’s album is released 100% for commercial reasons, but what about the last Black Keys’ album?
And this isn’t over, in 2012, he launched an attack against two other bands/musicians:
‘Rock is dying, because people became okay with Nickelback being the biggest band in the world. When people start lumping us into that kind of shit, it’s like,‘fuck you,’ he said, then he turned to another genre, describing Michael Bublé’s Christmas album as ‘a good choice to soundtrack a suicide.’
Is there someone his majesty tolerates? I wonder why he has never trashed Jack White after these infuriated emails calling Auerbach an asshole and accusing them to rip-off his sound? Rock star fights are the best!
