Simon Cowell To Make Movies

I’ll hand this to Simon Cowell, he can discover a money making trend when it bites him in the ass and while that might sound like an insult, how many other people looked at “Frozen” and immediately got into bed with the company that brought you “The Lego Movie”. Cowell: “These musical animations are doing great box office. From a record label standpoint, we’re always looking for different ways to sell music and do it in a cool way. This is something we dreamt of doing.”

Well, dreamt of doing it last month is what Cowell means, of course. And, let’s be honest, at some point or the other Simon stopped innovating… wait, I can’t believe I just wrote that sentence… innovate? Stopped stealing so well and ended with the godawaful US “X Factor” –a lousy rip off of “American Idol”.

“Films are a great vehicle for breaking records,” says Cowell. “Using Frozen as an example, the movie pushed the music and the music enhanced the movie. I think that’s how we’re going to work.”

I got that last sentence directly off Billboard in much the same way as Cowell will be getting his first movie directly off “Frozen”

We live in the world of the sequel, everything sequels something else and it goes round and round and round and ends up nauseous and with a headache. Is it too soon to say I fucking hate Cowell’s first musical? Oh, I don’t think so.
