There is this massive new trend amongst high school girls. Living in the ’70s is the new cool and well for some reason it just hits me incredibly lame. A resurgence in 16 year old Led Zep envy is also sorta odd when I see and hear them lusting after Jimmy Page and think.. the dudes fucking 7o get real. But then again if it WERE 1970 and he and Robert Plants pants were busting from the overflow well heck yeah I get it- but it’s not.
The 70’s are the new 80’s were the new 50’s and trust me- no current decade will be as cool as one that has passed. But I encounter a lot of it the whole “wish I was a band aid” (ie wish I were a groupie ala the film Almost Famous) and well times change children move along. But hearing news of Led Zeppelin releasing their first three LP’s again and this teaser video just reinforce the fact that yes, they were sexy beasts and yeah that was 40 years ago. But the patchouli wearing wanna be’s rejoice and you old timers can live in days past.
Me ? Meh, some good songs but nothing to die for. The the reissue of ‘Led Zeppelin II’ includes a second disc with alternate mixes of five songs, the backing tracks for two more and a never-before released song, ‘La La.’ The set will be available in CD, vinyl and digital formats, with a Super Deluxe box that includes a 70+-page book about the album and a high-quality print of the original album cover.. wowza man.
