What the fuck is Frank Turner doing using the hardcore X? Has this guy a clue? The origin of this is way off Turners path. ‘Back in the day’, it was a sign of legion to the NY Hardcore scene. Hell I wore that on the back of nearly every garment I owned from trench coat to leather it was gang colors flown with pride. If you wore that in Boston you knew you were open to ridicule (or worse) but if you hung out in Tompkins Square Park in NYC, you knew who was family and there you stayed with strangers who were never strange. The X may mean Anarchy but how much of an anarchist can you be when you have the social background of Turner?
Now this guy cops it and has the audacity to FT my HC? FU is more like it. There is nothing ‘hardcore’ about Turner, there is nothing ‘punk’ about Turner there is nothing but the same regurgitated muck served up to the kids and grand kids who got their asses kicked for sporting that symbol. What an atrocity and what a farce. He is actually catagorized as ‘folk punk’ which is the most idiotic thing I have ever read. I am a liberal conservative deer hunting vegan for that matter.
Simply said this badge of honor does not belong on the albums of a dude who graduated from Eaton (look it up punk rock kid) He may be a profit and educator but he is as hardcore as Betty White.
Before you 17 year old upstarts start crying I have offended your hero I suggest you head back to school and find out what hardcore really is. Your watered down posh ass acoustic whimper is nothing to the punch you in the face legacy of bands such as Agnostic Front. Snap out of it and go back to Hot Topic.
