If you were wondering whether you would ever be able to listen to this new Arcade Fire’s album before the end of the year, be reassured, it’s coming soon! Revolt News has revealed on Friday that the follow-up to 2010’s ‘The Suburbs‘ will arrive on September 9th according to a source close to the band.

But what do we know about this very anticipated album? Not much actually, Win and Régine just had a baby boy in April and we still don’t know his name, they are the anti Kayne-Kim, as this is a band that likes to keep a secret! But what do we know so far?

– Some of the songs were recorded at the DFA Records studio with LCD Soundsystem James Murphy, Markus Dravs took care of the other part of the album.

– Several locations were involved too, but Arcade Fire’s church-turned-into-studio wasn’t used for this new record, as the place was recently sold.

– Murphy himself said it’s gonna be a ‘really great record’ and who wouldn’t believe James Murphy?

– They have already played a few of the new songs during hyper-private shows in Montreal – you know the kind of ultra-secret gig that made Win Butler smash iPhones against the wall because people had dared taking pictures. It was reported they were going into a Talking Heads direction, while some songs were described as ‘dance-y and groovy’, with themes ‘rooted in the mid-19th century and African American history in the US’,… which still sounds intriguing.

– One of the songs is called ‘Crucified Again’ but manager Scott Rodger said they had written ‘too many songs’, and that ‘there’s around 35 songs with Arcade Fire, two albums’-worth for sure’. Still, don’t expect a double album.

And to finish, there are some rumors they may tour the US as early a September-October, but this could just be some wishful thinking because of the new a baby… baby Butler, baby Butler, no matter how hard I try, I can’t find anything funnier than the one picked by Kanye-Kim for their baby.
