Now, just between us, do you see any similarities? Thank IHEARTRADIO for turning a big deal into a, well, really really big two coast superstars of pop showdown at the hoedown. Aaccording to Forbes: “Fall has barely begun, but this year’s Jingle Ball concerts have already announced star-studded lineups over its several shows this winter. Arguably the biggest of them all will be held at Madison Square Garden on December 12 and will be sponsored by New York’s own Z100 radio station. Jingle Ball tickets have yet to hit the primary market, but some have already hit the secondary market with exceptionally high prices. The Manhattan-based concert will welcome some of pop music’s biggest acts, including Taylor Swift, Iggy Azalea, Sam Smith, Ariana Grande and many more. Other top-priced Jingle Ball concerts will be held at the Staples Center on December 5, the Xcel Energy Center in Minnesota on December 8 and the TD Garden in Boston on December 14. Overall the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour will hit 12 cities this winter.
I’ve reviewed every Jingle Ball right here since 2009 and been to every one for, wow, for decades… names? Justin biebers first, Green Day, J Lo, Gaga and Perry and Ke$ha, Taylor twice, One Direction, Michael Buble… Celine Dion… Here is the 1997 line up, which kinda wasn’t much comparatively speaking:
Aerosmith
Sarah McLachlan
Backstreet Boys
Celine Dion
Fiona Apple
The Wallflowers
Savage Garden
Chumbawamba
So far the one to beat has been 2012, you know Tay, 1D , the Wanted, the “Call me maybe” chick, Olly Murs. but 2014 looks like the standard bearer going forward.
