10 Songs: Wednesday, April 2nd, 2015

hqdefault

1 – Vagabond Moon Live – Willie Nile – From The Bottom Line, from 1980, and a welcvome reminder if necessary how great this guy, a Byrdsy folk rock dipped in new wave and never better than this terrific and heart felt version. This guy shoulda been a lot bigger  – A

2 – The Intro About Nothing – Wale – Once you get past Seinfeld’s snarky intro, what you get is Wale seriously considering his priorities and monogomy (and smoke) – A-

3 – You’re On – Madeon, Kyan – Pure modern disco, a terrific dance track – B+

4 – Wild Horses (Acoustic) – The Rolling Stones – Or is that tired horses? A great song that I can’t really hear any more – B

5 – Usual Suspects – Hollywood Undead –  Kitchen sink modern rocker, sounds like POD without the POV  – C+

6 – Homegrown Honey – Darius Rucker – Why are they always listening to Alabama? – B

7 – Of Everything That Rhymes – Benoit Pioulard – Sounds like he is trying to communicate with whales, who might answer pute some “Wales” on – B-

8 – Subtle Knife – Boxed In – Catchy electro pop with a great sounding beat -what’s the spin n it? – B+

9 – Rory And The Hurricanes – Ringo Starr – Ringo goes pre-Beatles to his first band, but doesn’t perform rock and roll, though the back up singers sound like girl group early 60s, and ends up with the Beatles before the song is over – B+

10 – Luci – Anna Caragnano And  Donato Dozzy – Astoundingly beatufiul voice is layered and cut up, placed everywhere your ear can here – A
