1. Carousel Ride – Rubblebucket – This indie band have been around for years waiting for their dance pop to hit, and this track off the new one is a smart addictive roundabout of a track and it just might do the job; Annakalmia Traver has the voice for the job – B+
2. Chase The Tear – Portishead – A great lost track which heralded the return of the band and lives on as one of their greatest moments – A+
3. Wishing My Life Away – Wreckless Eric – Le Beat Group Electrique won’t get its due this year but it hits me as the most consistent album of the year – A
4. Almost Like The Blues – Leonard Cohen – An instantaneous classic – A
5. picotement – je’June’d – With this song Mary Rudzis should knock off the ambient affectations and let the song speak for itself – A-
6. Shake It Off – Taylor Swift – Another triumph – A
7. Lights On – FKA twigs – If you weren’t raised on trip hop, this might take a little while. If you were, it won’t – A
8. Some Dreams Come True – SW/MM/NG – This is a genre recording and like genre any genre recording it sounds like all the other indie pop swoony guitar stuff at first… and at second – B
9. Don’t Look Down – Robyn Hitchcock – Pretty enough – B
10. Rock This Road – Basement Jazz – Rarified reggae dubbiness dance – B
