Snatching Success
Snatching Success

1. Saxophone Stomp – Rosko – Dubstep maestro, uses a beat pattern and a dubstep bass to interrupt for some form of mainstream dubstep, the only function of which will have you blasted on the dancefloor like a dog picking up frequencies no one else can hear – B

2. Mama – Shannon And The Clams – Minor track from a band that sometimes really nails doo wop, cool solo – B-

3. Who’s Counting – Kat Edmonson – A very wise, very addictive song – A+

4. Sky High – Big Gigantic – Misses live elements with house beats- B+

5. Can We Go Up – Paper Diamond – State of the art EDM, the sort of thing Calvin Harris is taking a coupla steps further – B

6. Cockney Thug – Rusko – Best use of a quote, the “poncey soul” riff  from “Snatch” – B+

7. Never going Back Again – Fleetwood Mac – If  Richard Thompson had ever joined the Mac they might have sounded like this – A

8. Voodoo – Bassnectar – High frequency squiggles – B+

9. I Just Can’t Live without You (But I’m Still Alive) – Christopher Owens – There is something sturdy and fragile at the same about about Owens writing. It is pop without having the slightest chance of being popular – A

10. Land Called Far Away – Colbie Caillat – really pretty socaler pop song – B+
