“Look Away” Chicago – Wow, this is terrible. You know how time improves a song, makes you feel like a nostalgia or maybe just a smile of pleasure for times gone by. This overblown horrorshow rock and soul ballad does nothing of the sort. It is worse than you remember – C-
“My Prerogative” Bobby Brown – This on the other hand has aged great, hip hop r&b with a heavy bass and a catchy mofo of a hook, from a mammoth album for him. Britney Bitch did a great cover – A-
“Every Rose Has Its Thorn” Poison – This sucked so bad, metal came up in arms and rebelled – C
“Straight Up” Paula Abdul – Fair to middling dance track – B
“Miss You Much” Janet Jackson – Finally, she was giving big brother a run for his money on not just this great dance track, but on the entire Rhythm Nation. I saw her on this tour and I am hear to tell you, this woman did not sing with back up tapes – A
“Cold Hearted” Paula Abdul – The other hit off Forever Your Girl, heavy on the synth and not bad but not Miss Jackson – B
“Wind Beneath My Wings” Bette Midler – I once dated a girl who dedicated this song to me, I consider it an insult but whatever, Bette was pretty good singing this on Carson – B-
“Girl You Know It’s True” Milli Vanilli – Cmon, there was zip reason to off yourself over this. I woulda taken the Grammy and toured forever – C
“Baby, I Love Your Way/Freebird Medley” Will to Power – I forgot all about this, maybe I never knew it. Dance versions of rock songs. and I must admit it works for me. Pretty damn fun – B
“Giving You the Best That I Got” Anita Baker – Smooth jazz hit for Anita, terrific pipes on her, a touch bland but I forgive her – B
