– Dreams – Beck – This is OK when you concentrate on it, it isn’t Midnight Vultures but the beat is sure steady enough, and it is lively, But it irritates as background and then you realize he needs to find the middle ground he wasn’t had – B

– September Grass – James Taylor – This slips away the way a life does, you only just notice it out of the corner of your eyes – A+

– Slap And Tickle – Squeeze – Some songs are for certain people, this reminds me of a girl I was obsessed with, finally got the courage to ask her out, and she shot me down in flames. Depressing stuff but the saving grace was here: “you have to throw the stone to get the pool to ripple” – A

– Go Out – Blur – Yeah, I got a ticket to MSG… they’ve been great live every time I’ve seen em – A-

– Line “em Up – James Taylor – Nixon says goodbye to his staff – A

– Bad Radio – Leftfield – My only problem with this is the band leading off their album with their best song – A

– All Your Favorite Bands – Simply one of the best songs of the year – A

– Day Dreams – araabmusik – My hopes are through the roof for this album, released today – A

– Nobody’s Empire – Belle And Sebastian – A welcome reminder as to how great they can be when the mood takes them – A

– Around The World – Natalie La Rosa – I guess she aint the next Whitney – B-
