1. Long Hair – Drowners – Between us girls, this is a hot, cool LES rock band who kinda missed it on their debut album mostly because their romantic scruff scene songs were kinda lifeless on record, but how much can you complain about this masterwork? – A
2. Don’t Say That No More – Willie “Big Eyes” Smith – Chicago blues guy, his voice was good but his harp was otherworldly – A
3. Bees – Laura cantral – So sweet it will make your teeth ache – C
4. The British Are Coming – Weezer – Lovely Pinkertonish track, Rivers best in over ten years – A-
5. High School Confidential – Jerry Lee Lewis – Get boppin on this live version from 1964 – A
6. Young Chasers – Circa Waves – They had the coveted 5pm slot at Pianos this year, so consider em a Drowners for 2014 – A
7. Blank Space Voice Memo – Taylor Swift – Maybe the best on the album and no it isn’t as good as “State Of Grace” but it is as much fun as possible, this early take is really cool with ooohs ooohs added randomy – A
8. My Lips Still taste Of You – Sylvie Simmons – The Leonard Cohen biographer summons the great man with a sexy torch track – A-
9. Grindin’ – Lil wayne And Drake – I dismissed it the first time round but that’s because I was concentrating on the back up track and not what I shoulda been listening to, the rap – B+
10. Midnight Train To Georgia – Aretha Franklin – As I ready to dismiss Divas from my memory, this is atrocious, it sounds like a parody of an electronic take on the song and still, Aretha sounds good. Amazing – C-
