Kendrick-Lamar-and-Flying-Lotus

– Never Catch Me – Flying Lotus featuring Kendrick Lamar – If you wanna know why Lamar is considered one of the biggest rappers around, listen to him rap to one of Flying Lotus’ more disjointed jazz beats – A-

– Rivernan – Noel Gallagher – The introduction is pure Oasis the rest of it pure second rate Oasis – B

– Red Eyes – The War On Drugs – I think we can all agree that all these Kurt Vile-y mood indie rockers are overrated, this is OK, but not much more – B-

– Fatal Flaw – Titus Andronicus – Has he shown it to you? It’s the best thing you ever saw – A

– Craigslist – Weird Al Yankovic – How good is this? That’s Ray Manzarek on keyboards – A

– Acquiesce – Oasis – Look, I don’t expect Noel to be able to write this anymore, but I also don’t expect the world to be pretend he is doing so – A

– All Your Favorite Bands – This is a memory song of sorts. Taylor has broken up with a girl because she wants to be alone, and a long while later he wakes up one morning and she slips into his mind and he writes a benediction so he wrote her this song – A

– Brown Sugar – The Rolling Stones – With Eric Clapton’s sterling, mercurial lead lick in the opening and Jagger’s youthful vocal, all drawl and come on, this is a major take on the classic back when it was new to them. Get down to the ground – A

– Rather Be (Feat Jesse Glynne) – Clean Bandit – They ended their terrific set with this masterpiece and how I wish Jesse Glynne had made an appearance -a woman who might find the Summer of 2015 bel;ongs to her – A

– Real Love – Clean Bandit – They opened with this, 40M streams versus 343M for “Rather Be”… – B+
