1. Anything Could Happen – Ellie Goulding – Her breakthrough song was “Lights” but this one made her the real deal, a brilliant hooting track and a study in excitation that turned a dance track into a modern anthem and if the beat was less house and more disco, so much the better – A

2. Lions – Tune-Yards – And her breakthrough song, which sounds like a bizarre nursery rhyme to scare your loved one with late at night – A-

3. Girls Suck – Lydia Loveless – She is on the record as to regretting this song but it doesn’t suck and suck – A-

4. When The Saints Go Marching In – Louis Armstrong – Late period Armstrong with a good ol good ol – A

5. Drown In Blue – Marla Mase – This is her masterpiece, a Patti Smith Easter era with a better rhythm section that crunches to its completely strange spoken word interlude – A

6. Saints Live – Moby – In which Moby takes his last album and adds deep beats in a live setting – B+

8. Get What You Give – The Men – Classic rock for the new age, if they had a bit more aggression in the playing it could be big time – B+

9. I Got It (feat Rick Ross) – Ashanti – I guess it has a head of steam going for it but once you’ve said that, it is all a little obvious – B-

10. First Air Of Autumn – Drive-By Truckers – A good country groove and tightly controlled songwriting… a goodie off an iffy album- B+
