Marc Bolan 1965

–  20th Century Boy – T-Rex – You believe in God? Why is Marc Bolan dead and Rupert Murdoch is retiring  at a ripe old age if this God is somewhere around?  Surely that makes no cosmic sense whatsoever? – A

– Twentieth Century Fox –  The Doors – Got the world locked up inside a plastic box, this is the Doors at their very best, not a shaman lizard king hosannah art band, not a jam band or psychedelic band, but a pop band singing a right on tribute to a hot chick. Jim’s admiration is the ultimate answer to Mick Jagger’s incipient misogyny

– Dandy In The Underworld – T Rex – This is 1977 and the man was still untouchable. He might have given Bowie a run for his money – A

– All The Young Dudes – David Bowie – Juvenile delinquent wrecks finds its ultimate rhyme – A+

– Sway – The Rolling Stones – Evil has never been more human, life more real. Maybe the second best song off the album – A

– Fatal Flaw – It’s the best thing you ever saw – A+

– Brown Sugar – The Rolling Stones – Perhaps not their greatest song but absolutely their greatest creation – A+

– Brown Sugar with Eric Clapton – Clapton’s slide is a thing of wonder and beauty – A

– Bitch Live At Leeds 1971 – The Rolling Stones – An uptempo ditty – A

Get It On Live At The BBC – T Rex – Recorded in July 1970, that is JULY 1970! The sound of the 70s before the 70s kicked in.
